Changelog
Updated to Minecraft 1.17.1
The mod now runs on Minecraft 1.17.1. Many internal changes were also applied to optimize the code.
Added bitumen and concrete from Mapper Base
Bitumen (asphalt) and concrete were moved in from Mapper Base. This includes worldgen and recipes. If you want to change how bitumen is generated in your worlds you now need to check Road Stuff config (roadstuff-common.toml in the config folder of your instance).
Added new paintbrushes
Paintbrushes now come in various materials similar to other tools. Each material can hold a different amount of paint. You can still refill 8 times from a full paint bucket but each refill will provide a different quantity depending of the brush material. Crafts are progressive so you need to start with the wooden brush and then craft the next tiers from the previous tier by adding an cobblestone / ingot / diamond to the brush (netherite requires a smiting table like other tools).
Tiers are: wood (32), stone (64), iron (128), gold (256) / steel (384), diamond (512), netherite (1024). Numbers are how many times you can paint with one refill. Steel shares the same tier than gold so the diamond brush can be crafted from both of them. The steel is from Mapper Base by default (steel from other mods can also be used).
Other changes
- Updated reflector models.
- Updated traffic barrel model and collision.
Please report bugs to GitHub.

- Optimized cone collisions
- Removed unused files

[1.14.4] Road Stuff 2.1.0 • First Release build!
Road Stuff 2 is now out of beta! As it is still quite new, bugs can still happen but I need more data and feedback to be sure. For now I didn't notice any problem by using it in modpacks.
Numbering now follows <major version>.<major patch>.<minor patch>, with 1.x.x versions being the old 1.7.10 version and 2.x.x versions being for 1.14.4.
Changelog
- Updated to Forge 28.1.74.
- Added cylindrical delineators for all other colors not implemented yet.
- Added red reflector.
- Added small delineators, specially made for being placed on rail guards.
- Attempt to fix the missing painted line on slope blocks when using Optifine (not that Optifine is hard to support sometimes when using it with mods so always expect incompatibility issues when using it).
- Various code changes and bufixes.
As usual, remember to report any problem or bug you may encounter.
Have fun!
NOTE: Road Stuff 2 is in beta test. Please report any bug you find. Always backup your saves on a regular basis!
[1.14.4] Road Stuff 2.0.9.0 • Guardrails and delineators

[1.14.4] Road Stuff 2.0.8.0 • Slope blocks
This new build implements new "slope" blocks. Those blocks are basically slabs but with 4 stack levels instead of 2. They allow making slopes so players or any other living entity don't need to jump anymore. They can also be painted like regular road blocks, and can be placed underwater like any slab or stair.
Changelog
- Updated to Forge 28.1.44.
- Added slope blocks: craft them by placing two asphalt or concrete blocks, like the pressure plate craft. This will give you 8 slopes. You can convert them back to full block with 4 of them in a 2x2 craft.
- Reflectors and cones (all variants) can't stay in air anymore when you break the block under them.
- Various code change and bufixes.
As usual, remember to report any problem or bug you may encounter.
Have fun!

[1.14.4] Road Stuff 2.0.7.0 • Beta release
Road Stuff 2 is now in beta state! This means the build should be stable enough for a serious save. Still, remember to always backup your saves regularly!
This new build introduces many major changes:
Many new line patterns were added. This also means current saves will have broken roads (i.e. wrong painted patterns) since patterns IDs changed again and you'll have to fix your roads. This is the last time it will happen. In the future, eventual new patterns will just be added at the end of the list to avoid this.
The item form of painted road blocks are also removed to reduce the large amount of files, to lower loading time and remove all the blocks that were filling the JEI block list. They were only for silk touch but wasn't really worth it. When loading an existing world from previous versions, Forge will tell you there are 1000+ missing items: don't worry, it's normal. From now, breaking any road block will simply return the basic, unpainted block (silk touch or not).
Changelog:
- Updated to Forge 28.1.24.
- Added tens of new patterns for more possibilities in your roads.
- Hitting a living entity (players, mobs, villagers etc) with a paintbrush having paint will now make the target blind for 2.5 seconds. This consumes paint.
- Removed item form of painted road blocks to reduce memory usage, loading time and remove block spam in JEI.
- Added correct harvesting tools for most of the blocks for compatibility with modded tools.
- Many bugfixes.
As usual, remember to report any problem or bug you may encounter.
Happy testing!
NOTE: Road Stuff 2 is in alpha state! Bugs can occur. Always backup your saves on a regular basis!
[1.14.4] Road Stuff 2.0.6.0 • More paint brush GUI features
This build adds a new functionality to the paint brush: favorite patterns! Right click on a pattern to add it to the favorites on the right side of the GUI. Up to 8 patterns can be bookmarked here. The GUI also display the current selected pattern in the top right corner. Various text displays have been changed to support translation files and Forge RB is now supported as well.
Changelog
- Updated to Forge 28.1.1.
- Added favorite pattern in brush GUI (right click on a pattern to pin it).
- Added tooltip when hovering the mouse on patterns to see their number.
- Tweaked paintbrush and paint bucket tooltips to use translated components instead of hard-coded English text.
As usual, remember to report any problem or bug you may encounter.
Happy testing!
WARNING: Road Stuff 2 is in heavy alpha state! This first release is to try the new road block system with the paint brush. Do not use on your main saves as the mod core can be changed in the future, breaking saves. Only use it in worlds you don't mind losing or test worlds. Always backup your saves on a regular basis!
[1.14.4] Road Stuff 2.0.5.0 • Paint brush additions and bugfixes
This build fixes a bug that made road blocks unbreakable in creative mode and add a visualization of the remaining paint in a paint brush using the durability bar. This way, you do not need to open your inventory and hover the brush to see the remaining paint anymore.
Changelog
- Updated to Forge 28.0.81.
- Fixed a bug preventing road blocks from being broken in creative mode.
- Added a durability bar to the paint brush to show how much paint is remaining.
- Enhanced paint brush usage in creative mode: painted blocks now don't look like they're broken when using the paint brush (due to some limitation, this visual effect comes back if you hold the button to paint continuously).
As usual, remember to report any problem or bug you may encounter.
Happy testing!

[1.14.4] Road Stuff 2.0.4.0 • Restored paintbrush behavior
This build reverts the paintbrush behavior to the one used in MC 1.14.3 versions, since Forge fixed the missing events. You have now to left click to paint (even in creative) and right click to open the GUI. In addition, the mod contains now reflectors for more safety on your roads! With a bit of redstone you can even make them luminescent, acting like any other light source (like a torch). A perfect way to light your roads without spamming torches everywhere.
Changelog
- Updated to Forge 28.0.45.
- Changed the paintbrush behavior back to the previous one used in 1.14.3 versions.
- Added reflectors, with two colors (white and yellow) and luminescent variants.
As usual, remember to report any problem or bug you may encounter.
Happy testing!
