What is this mod?

This mod overhauls the gameplay experience with cats, converting them from fragile house decorations into engaging and interactive adventuring companions while keeping the vanilla feel. A main feature is the option for tamed cats to be revived after death. This alleviates the fear of losing them permanently and encourages you to take them on your exploration adventures instead of leaving them sitting at home.

If your tamed cat meets an unfortunate end, they will drop their collar into your inventory. This collar can be right-clicked to revive the cat at your location, adding a new level of safety and strategy to managing your cat companions ✰

Other Features

In addition to respawnability, this mod includes many other immersive quality of life cat enhancements.

• To tame a cat, you must use an Ancient Cod or Ancient Salmon, a rare drop from Cod and Salmon, respectively. This adds a new level of challenge to help balance the faux immortality of your future companion.
• Ancient Cod and Ancient Salmon are also available as rare fishing drops, or can be purchased from a master level Fisherman Villager.
• Ancient Cod and Ancient Salmon can be consumed for a brief Regeneration effect, and the same hunger and saturation as Raw Cod and Raw Salmon.
• Ancient Cod and Ancient Salmon can be smelted in a furnace to produce Cooked Ancient Cod and Cooked Ancient Salmon, respectively. These can be consumed for a longer Regeneration effect, and the same hunger and saturation as Cooked Cod and Cooked Salmon.
• Once tamed, your pet cat is immune to friendly fire, ensuring that you can adventure and fight mobs without the fear of accidentally harming them.
• Tamed cats now have increased max health, movement speed, and attack damage.
• Custom names on your cat now render in gold and are always visible.
• You can sneak + right click your pet cat to interact with them and give them attention, they love it.
• Using an an Ancient Cod or Ancient Salmon on your tamed cat grants a surprise :)
• Your pet cats will periodically update you on their actions, in the game chat.
• If there are multiple tamed cats near each other there is a chance of them interacting with each other in the game chat action messages.
• If you take your cat adventuring with you, they can come across items as they explore, and drop them at your feet.
• If other players interact with your cat, you'll be notified, letting you know who's taking care of your pet.
• Other players cannot use your cat's collar, which helps prevent griefing.
• The owner of a Cat Collar is displayed as a collar tooltip, if that owner was in-game when their cat died.
• Cats repel nearby Creepers, and will hiss when they approach.
