Disx
What is disx?
disx is a Minecraft mod that allows you to "burn" audio/music from YouTube videos onto custom-made discs! Multiplayer playback is in fact supported!
The mod is currently available on version 1.20.1 on Fabric, Forge, and Quilt.
THIS MOD REQUIRES ARCHITECTURY API AND, IF ON FABRIC, FABRIC API, OR, IF ON QUILT, QUILT STANDARD LIBRARIES
Use of REI is encouraged, as Disx has built-in support for it, making it easier to see recipes for custom discs in our custom workstation blocks. Support for EMI and JEI is coming soon.
How do I make and play a custom disc?

Well, I'm glad you asked!
Step 1: Acquire Lacquer Drops
You can find these when chopping down trees, as they will occasionally drop from decaying leaves!
Step 2: Craft a Stamp Maker
In order to "burn" your YouTube video of choice to a disc, you'll need a Record Stamp. To make one, you'll need a Stamp Maker. Use the recipe as follows.
Step 3: Craft a Block of Lacquer
Used as the material to mold a Record Stamp with, you'll need to craft a Block of Lacquer. Use the recipe as follows.
Step 4: Use the Stamp Maker
Firstly, you will click on the Stamp Maker with a Block of Lacquer. This will put it in. Then, to set the id of the YouTube video you'd like to burn into the stamp, you can Shift + Click. This will open a little textbox to enter the id into. Then, congratulations, you've made your first Record Stamp!
Step 5: Craft a Record Press
Before we can do anything else, we'll need a machine to press the contents of our Record Stamp onto a Blank Disc. To craft a Record Press, use the recipe as follows.
Step 6: Make a Blank Disc
Follow the recipes as follows.
Step 7 (OPTIONAL): Acquire a Decorative Factor
Want to make your custom disc look different or have a different color? You can use certain items in the Record Pressing process to change the look of your disc! Current decorative variants include: Diamond, Gold, Iron, Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, Pink, Purple, and Orange.
Step 8: Use the Record Press
Take your blank disc, and place it into the Record Press by right clicking. Then, you can place in your Record Stamp. Finally, and this is completely optional, if you'd like to modify your disc's look, right click on the Record Press with any of the decorative factor items currently usable in the mod! Finally, activate a redstone signal to the Record Press (button, lever, etc) to press it all together. Congratulations, you've made your first custom disc! Gif of Using Record Press
Step 9: Craft an Advanced Jukebox
Craft an Advanced Jukebox to use your new custom disc. Follow the recipe below.
All done!

Common FaQ

Q: Why does it keep saying
Disx Error: No video found!
when I try to make a record stamp?A: If you are on a server, some server hosts prevent the mod from properly loading video information. To work around this, run the following command:
/disxconfig setProperty video_existence_check false
. This command will disable the particular feature on the mod. The playback WILL still work, even though the discs you produce will say "Video Not Found" in their descriptions.Q: Will this be on versions other than 1.20.1?
A: Yes, this mod will be ported to other versions once it is more close to fully complete.
Q: Can I use this in my modpack?
A: Yes, you can.
Q: I try to sneak and click the Stamp Maker, but it just disappears. Why?
A: Make sure you don't have Carry On installed, as Disx mod is not currently compatible with it.
Q: I put a disc in the Advanced Jukebox and no audio playback is happening. Is the mod broken?
A: YouTube has a tendency to update its innerworkings regularly in efforts to fight piracy and bots. Due to this, sometimes the mod will fail to play audio back if YouTube has pushed an update that nerfed its code. In this event, wait for a new release of this mod to fix playback. I try my best to keep up with these changes and ensure the mod is in fully functioning condition at all times.
